In a conventional basement, dry air in the living space acts as a magnet for water vapor seeping up through the concrete. But with the DELTA®-FL system, the space between the dimples provides a sufficient air-gap to equalize the water pressure above and below the concrete slab.

While air in your living space is isolated from the system, DELTA®-FL is designed to allow small amounts of water vapor into a room to maintain a healthy humidity level. Composed of a special FDA-approved, high-density polyethylene resin, DELTA®-FL's air-gap membrane provides a dimpled surface with outstanding compressive strength, impact resistance and long-term performance. The membrane provides a thermal break that generates instant comfort and warmth for your basement. DELTA®-FL system uses inert materials. The air-gap membrane has an outstanding compressive strength of > 250 kN/m², making it extremely tough and rugged. Its ability to withstand heavy loads allows Strata-Tek to install any kind of flooring you choose on top of the membrane.

You can create a beautiful, high-performance basement floor by having DELTA®-FL material beneath your carpeting, linoleum, hardwood flooring, laminate floors, as well as ceramic or peel & stick tiles. The heavy-duty gray plastic membrane will keep you and your family warm and comfortable in your basement or any other room of the house with a concrete sub-floor. Strata-Tek will professionally install the membrane over your concrete slab, creating a 5/16-inch thick air space above the slab. Then, we will cover the membrane with a plywood subfloor, and top off the underlayment with the carpet or flooring system of your choice.
